Yes: fifty free answers with no card. That covers a real model-and-iterate cycle for most use cases — describe a business, compile it, run a sensitivity sweep. After the fifty, add a card and pay ten cents per answer.
The API returns HTTP 402 (Payment Required) with a structured `spend_cap_reached` payload. Your agent will surface this and your modeling halts until you raise the cap. To change your spending cap, email info@flatlandfi.com — we'll update it within one business day. Your current usage is visible at /api/usage.
One free API key per email address. Sign up with a different email to get a separate key. Each key gets its own 50 free answers to start.
No annual contracts on the metered plan. If you're a platform deploying Flatland under your own product surface, see /platforms; that's the only conversation where pricing customization happens.
Your cap protects you. The default $50/month cap caps your worst-case to ~500 extra answers in the month. You can lower the cap to $5, $10, anywhere in between. Or remove your card to cap at the free tier.
Yes: email info@flatlandfi.com and we will remove your payment method. Your account stays open; any remaining free answers in your starting 50 remain available. Your model JSON files stay on your disk and are yours to keep. A self-serve billing portal is on the roadmap.
